Happy Father's Day, Dad and BRUCE

On Friday, because Bruce had to work on Father's Day, we celebrated with Bruce's Dad at Chuck-a-Rama. Susan, (Bruce's sister) who is now in town for the summer, and Danny joined us. Also, Ted Jackson (Bruce's brother's youngest boy) was there too. Ted was at the BYU this summer and returned home to make preparations serve in the Korea Seoul Mission. He enters the MTC August 12 (same day as Preston and Bruce when he was called as a missionary). Then on Saturday, Bruce, Rachel and I celebrated Father's Day. We went in on a GPS Locator that Bruce had wanted for years. It is a Garmin and we got it from "Overstock.com" for a really good price according to the guys at work. Bruce was excited and will not only use it in the Uinta's and Southern Utah but while he is driving and finding those crazy places at South Mountain, Dimple Dell, and Eagle Mountain. We know that Brigham Young didn't design those streets :). Anyway...we were excited to give this to him. Robby emailed Bruce a really nice letter, which Bruce really enjoyed reading. You really don't know the impact you have on your children until they have gone away!
On Sunday, I went to Ron's house to celebrate Father's Day with my family! We had barbequed gourmet Hamburgers with every imaginable toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, onions, bacon, pickles, olives and so forth. My mom made dessert and we had fun visiting and watching the boys ride bikes and do their long boarding stuff!

Okay...I did it wrong...

Ok...I forget the order (first shall be last and the last shall be first). I don't know how to change the order, so sorry...Someone tell me please how I could have made this all one blog! I want to do pictures and then blog and then add more pictures and blog so that I don't have two different blogs! Thanks!

DoDa's (continued)

So then for our YW's activity we did these block letters. Each of the girls bought letters to spell out their names. The leaders did other words and I did "Family" I had never done these before and so I was excited to learn how to do them. I went to Wood Connection and bought my wooden letters and did some lower and upper case. I had this striped papers and you trace and cut the letters (I used them for the F and y) and had a plaid for the letter "I". Then you spray this expensive spray on the back of the paper to glue it on. Mitzi said it's $12.00 a can. Then you put it on the letters. Next week we will sand around the edges and whatever else and then the project is complete! Yea! The colors I chose is a Village Green and Parchment. It matches the stripes and then a brown plaid, which matches the brown in the papers. Don't know where I will put it, but it was fun learning a new craft!

Diane's Designs (and Rachel's too)

33 cards that Rachel and I made. Okay these were to be after the blog.

So on Saturday, while Travis was at an all day Golfing Tournament, Rachel came down and we made 33 cards! We had a lot of fun working together and getting these done! Most of them will be for us and a few we made for gifts. I think this is one of the first times we are keeping what we made. We worked for approximately 11 hours and had a lot of fun talking, laughing and just being together! The first picture of Rachel before we started, then our break and then after 11 hours! )

NOT LIKING MONDAY HOLIDAYS ANYMORE

So I have decided that I do not like Monday holidays anymore! :( Robby has P-Days on Mondays and we did not get an email from him today because I'm sure all the libraries are closed and so he can't send us an email! (Man...that was a long sentence - I'm out of breath!) I hope he had a great week and that the two investigators they were teaching and going to challenge them to be baptized during this past week said they would! I'm sure he is doing great and keeping busy, but I AM MISSING HIS EMAIL!

ROBBY'S BEST FRIEND RECEIVES HIS MISSION CALL!

Preston didn't get the mission call on Wednesday (I think he was disappointed), but Thursday. He had to work until 10:30 pm, but got someone to work so that he could come home at 7. When Bruce got home, he asked where Preston was going. I said he'll know at 7. Bruce said, "Let's go over there." I said, "We can't cuz we didn't invite them." Bruce said, "Let's invite ourselves and go over there."
Right then the phone rang and Caller ID said, "Ryan Butcher." I answered by saying, "WHERE ARE YOU GOING" really excited. Preston told us he didn't open it yet and told us to come over. When we got there, Lisa came to me and said that when Preston came home he asked if she invited us. Lisa said, "No," cuz she didn't know if Preston wanted us over there with all his friends. He didn't answer her and turned around and called us! Bruce said later "...sometimes Preston liked us better than his own parents." (lol - ssshhhh, don't tell Lisa and Ryan). Anyway...we're excited for him! Preston has been called to the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC SANTO DOMINGO WEST MISSION! I told Preston that when he flies over Florida, to wave to Robby! Robby is excited for Preston and told him to "embrace himself in the work cuz there are people waiting for Elder Butcher to teach them the Gospel." We are sooo excited for our "boys." Good luck Preston! We know you will serve our Heavenly Father with all your might, mind, and strength!
