Bear Lake 2009

Once again, we had so much fun at Bear Lake! We had an overcast and then the winds came. Blew are 2 canapes away! I caught mine and held on to it until the guys came back on their wave runners. The winds were strong and had white capped waves. But Ron and Matt had fun on the wave runners during that time! After we packed up, we went to get the famous Strawberry shakes and homemade hamburgers and fries! Then we drove to Logan to "camp" (my parents came with us and their definition for camping is "hotel). They had a nice indoor swimming pool so they kids swam until it was time to get ready for dinner - Olive Garden! I must say I did enjoy this type of camping. The next day Travis and Bruce went fishing (you'll see shortly the fish Travis caught). Travis wanted Rachel to come, but Rachel told him that her "fishing hole" was Hobby Lobby! So we drove Bruce and Travis to their fishing hole and went shopping! Which was a lot of fun! Never have been to Hobby Lobby but found a lot of fun stuff! Next we picked up the guys from fishing and also picked up my two nephews and dropped them off at Logan's new outdoor swimming spot (Murray needs to update and upgrade). Bruce and I went shopping! Bruce went with me to TJ Max and I went with him to Sports Authority (which I like also). Picked up the swimmers and headed up (Travis and Rachel needed to be back for the baseball game). It truly was a really fun trip! I love Bear Lake and Bruce and I are thinking about doing a Time Share when they finish their new condos! Getting up at 4:30 a.m and the drive is well worth it!

Happy Father's Day, Dad and BRUCE

On Friday, because Bruce had to work on Father's Day, we celebrated with Bruce's Dad at Chuck-a-Rama. Susan, (Bruce's sister) who is now in town for the summer, and Danny joined us. Also, Ted Jackson (Bruce's brother's youngest boy) was there too. Ted was at the BYU this summer and returned home to make preparations serve in the Korea Seoul Mission. He enters the MTC August 12 (same day as Preston and Bruce when he was called as a missionary). Then on Saturday, Bruce, Rachel and I celebrated Father's Day. We went in on a GPS Locator that Bruce had wanted for years. It is a Garmin and we got it from "Overstock.com" for a really good price according to the guys at work. Bruce was excited and will not only use it in the Uinta's and Southern Utah but while he is driving and finding those crazy places at South Mountain, Dimple Dell, and Eagle Mountain. We know that Brigham Young didn't design those streets :). Anyway...we were excited to give this to him. Robby emailed Bruce a really nice letter, which Bruce really enjoyed reading. You really don't know the impact you have on your children until they have gone away!
On Sunday, I went to Ron's house to celebrate Father's Day with my family! We had barbequed gourmet Hamburgers with every imaginable toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, onions, bacon, pickles, olives and so forth. My mom made dessert and we had fun visiting and watching the boys ride bikes and do their long boarding stuff!
Okay...I did it wrong...
Ok...I forget the order (first shall be last and the last shall be first). I don't know how to change the order, so sorry...Someone tell me please how I could have made this all one blog! I want to do pictures and then blog and then add more pictures and blog so that I don't have two different blogs! Thanks!
DoDa's (continued)

So then for our YW's activity we did these block letters. Each of the girls bought letters to spell out their names. The leaders did other words and I did "Family" I had never done these before and so I was excited to learn how to do them. I went to Wood Connection and bought my wooden letters and did some lower and upper case. I had this striped papers and you trace and cut the letters (I used them for the F and y) and had a plaid for the letter "I". Then you spray this expensive spray on the back of the paper to glue it on. Mitzi said it's $12.00 a can. Then you put it on the letters. Next week we will sand around the edges and whatever else and then the project is complete! Yea! The colors I chose is a Village Green and Parchment. It matches the stripes and then a brown plaid, which matches the brown in the papers. Don't know where I will put it, but it was fun learning a new craft!
